Freeze Aging Skincare Class

Today is a happy Monday for me as I just conducted a skincare class for three of my lovely friends. It was a fun session whereby they learned about the daily skincare routine from how to cleanse their face to protecting their skin from sun damage.

Washing your face correctly is a fundamental skincare step. Our fingers are never enough and will never get our skin really clean. Skinvigorate Cleansing brush is a spa like paradise for skin. This brush helps to remove more makeup, dirt and oil than cleansing with your hands alone. With a cleaner skin, skincare such as serums and moisturizer tends to penetrate better into the skin.

There are things that can be done to freeze aging (wrinkles, brown spots, uneven skin tone...... ) without surgery. Daily skincare that suits your skin type and being hardworking on completing your skincare routine is essential to maintain a healthy and glowing skin.

My creative makeup

Creativity is something very subjective and varies depending on individuals preferences. I have seen the work of several makeup artists’ creative makeup.  I have to admit some of the makeup works were pretty impressive but some were rather too scary for my liking.

To me, creative makeup is my expression of my love for stunning colours and everything pretty.

Spring Blossoms

“The cold heart winter has passed. Spring follows to warm the air and thaw
the ice. Flowers now bloom and butterflies flutter around them playfully.”

Why did I select this makeup theme?

It took me a while to decide the theme for my creative makeup. I was contemplating between winter or spring. As some of my friends would have known, winter theme is definitely inspired by my recent obsession for my favourite princess cartoon character- Princess Elsa from the Frozen movie. However, I finally decided to choose spring theme instead as it coincides with the starting of the spring season this March. I absolutely love butterflies as well as flowers and stunning colours, so this theme is the best theme that fits my personal liking as well as my personality.

Brainstorming for ideas is not exactly that difficult as I initially thought it was but to choose a particular style can be a little challenging. I went ahead with my preference for simplicity yet sweet, lively, merry, happy, colourful and soothing to the eyes.

It took me 3.5 hours to complete the entire makeup with a majority of the time trying to capture good photos of my work.  It is really challenging to be doing creative makeup on myself as it takes lots of effort and concentration to be putting together all the leaves and flowers at my ear and on my face. However, it is still an enjoying process. I believed I have captured the spirit of spring using the very basic- flowers and butterflies.

Thanks to my fiancé I have photos of the pretty outcome of my work.

There are no ugly girls, only lazy ones

There are no ugly girls, only lazy ones. This statement is absolutely true! As we usher into a new year, take the effort to beautify yourself. Start loving yourself more. Let today be the day you love yourself enough to no longer just dream of becoming a prettier you, let it be the day you act upon it

For those singles ladies, FIRST LOVE YOURSELF and everything else will come next. Treat yourself like a PRINCESS and you will attract a PRINCE. For ladies who are already attached or married, please continue maintaining a pretty you and not slack out on your beauty routine. You should continue looking pretty not for anyone else but for yourself.

You will be surprised how a slight tint of colour on your face can make a difference to your overall look.

A new year, a new beginning, a new you!

MAC 2015 makeup look

I was invited to attend the MAC exclusive meet and mingle session at MAC Ngee Ann City. It was indeed a good experience for me. As a makeup artist, it is always my passion to discover and learn new make up techniques to improve my existing skill sets.  I was able to discover beauty secrets as well as learn new makeup techniques from the MAC PRO makeup artist.

For 2015, the trend is to have a natural look- a no makeup look. When I say "no makeup look", it does not mean that you just walk out of your house after washing your face. No make up look means your makeup is so natural that it looks as if you have no make up on. In a makeup context, "less is always more."

Enjoy the photos below on the natural makeup.

If you like a more dramatic effect, you may be interested in the next makeup look. This makeup look is more suitable on the runway or a fashion shoot. This makeup may also be suitable for an evening event BUT you will need to adjust the eye shadow hue to a lesser dramatic effect.

End result on both of the MAC models
I was lucky to be able to have a group photo with the MAC makeup artist as well as the models.

My face looks naked and I look tiny next to the models. Time to eat more? Haha....
It was indeed a fun session for me. I also discover a new product during the MAC demo session which interests me a lot. I ended up buying the Prep + Prime Essential Oils. The oil can be mixed together with your moisturizer or foundation and applied on the face. The oil has a nice scent and helps to bring out a healthy glow on your face.

Hope you enjoy reading my blog. Good night ladies. Stay tuned for my next blog on my personal advice on natural makeup.

Wondering why we are all dressed up in black? This is a standardized dress code to distinguish between the makeup artist and the models.

Our makeup tools- we are all ready!

Our group selfie- my face angle looks a bit weird in this photo though ..haha..

Me & my lovely models
*Due to their young age, I did not shape their eyebrow and have left it in their natural shape
*It's really good to be young, they have such perfect complexion
